| - Buyer BEWARE.!!! I bought the Compaq Presario CQ61 laptop in Feb. of this year and on May 28th it broke down. It was sitting on my laptop tray in my bedroom working fine when I left it. When I came back the red Compaq logo screen was up and now it says that I do not have a hard drive...I am getting the run around from HP customer serv...ice ... I sent it to HP and NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHATS WRONG WITH IT!!!! All I got was a form letter stating that the technical diagnostic found that the problem is not covered under the warranty...OK WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?!?!?!? Typical comming from a company who does not want to take responsibility for making a defective laptop. I WILL NOT buy anything else from HP! And not because of the fact that the laptop is obviously defective but because of their POOR customer service and technical support. | |

| - I've owned a dozen GPS units before and this is my favorite of all times - size (especially considering the mount!), speed, features, configurability, good text to speech with a twist that I love (i.e. "take the 'Third Right' on Main Street"). The only reason I did not give it fives across the board is due to the battery on this referb unit must be tired already, as I've needed to plug it in for every use and can not rely on battery power alone to get me 20 minutes away to just get on the freeway without plugging in. Specs say 2 hours, but not on my unit. | |

| - Bought the refurb from buy.com. I spent awhile reading reviews of GPS units and came to the conclusion that there is no such thing as a perfect brand/product, they all have their negatives. But, for this price with text to speech, it's great. I like being able to download voices and map schemes online and if you occasionally plug into computer and update the hotfixGPS, it finds satellites in like 5 seconds. Routing for the most part seems as good as or better than other brands I've used. I would definitely recommend this unit. I also like the mounting system, I can actually mount it above my rear view mirror, which I really like because it's then somewhat hidden by the tinted part of the windshield, can barely see it from outside vehicle if you just unplug power cord. I signed up for the 1 year update service for $40 and have up to date maps now, as the map that came on it was about a year old. Hopefully it lasts a long time, I really enjoy it. | |
